Derrick Rose will miss the remainder of the postseason after tearing the ACL in his left knee. The injury occurred in the Bulls' game one victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. The Bulls were up by 20 with 4:11 left in the fourth. The lead was cut down to twelve with under 2 minutes left in the game. Rose went back into the game and went down with 1:12 left in the game. This is unfortunate for the Bulls because Rose was just coming back from a multitude of minor injuries that kept him out for most of the year. The injury to D. Rose kills the Bulls' hopes of a title, but I believe they can still beat the 76ers. CJ Watson and John Lucas will be enough to beat Philly, but I don't see them beating any other team in a 7 game series. Sorry Bulls fans...

NBA Playoffs and Predictions
The NBA season is over and the playoffs will begin Saturday. The first round match ups are set and this year's playoffs is primed to be great a great one.
THE WEST
Spurs/Jazz
The #1 Spurs are facing #8 Utah Jazz. Usually, series between a 1 and a 8 seed are the worse but the Jazz are a team that I believe can challenge the Spurs. The Spurs have an undersized front line while the Jazz are deep with talented big men. But I still believe the Spurs will win this series in 6.
Thunder/Mavericks
These two teams met last year in the Western Conference Finals. Dirk Nowitzki was just unstoppable in that series and the Mavs won in 5 games. This year I believe the results will be reversed. The Thunder have gotten better while the Mavs have gotten older. Kevin Durant will have a stellar series along with Russell Westbrook and James Harden. Thunder in 5.
Lakers/Nuggets
Coming into the season, I thought the Lakers would barely make the playoffs, but they surprised me. The Lakers won the Pacific Division and gained the #3 seed in the West. They face the #6 Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets are a scrappy, high scoring team with the potential to upset any team that sleeps on them. I don't see them beating Kobe and Andrew Bynum. Lakers in 6.
Grizzlies/Clippers
The 4 and 5 match up is usually the most competitive. This series will not disappoint. The Grizzlies clinched the 4th seed on the last day of the season with a record of 41-25. The Clippers ended the season on a low note losing the last two games and Chris Paul to a groin injury. The Grizzlies are completely healthy unlike last year in the playoffs (Rudy Gay separated shoulder). The Grizzlies are deep and they have talented big men. The Clippers are small and their bench is not that great. But their small guards are talented and can score. Their size will be a issue on defense. CP3 will be the driving force behind the Clippers but it will not be enough. Grizzlies in 7.
THE EAST
Bulls/76ers
This is probably one of the more underrated series. Many people think this will be a breeze for the Bulls, but the 76ers are the second best defensive team in the NBA. The Bulls are limping into the post season with a ton of injures. Derrick Rose is still recovering from an ankle injury. Luol Deng has been playing with a torn ligament in his shooting wrist. Richard Hamilton missed 38 games with a shoulder injury. Despite all of the injuries, the Bulls still played at a high level. These two teams are the 1st and 2nd best defensive teams in the NBA. I see this series being a tough, ugly series. But the Bull will prevail. Bulls in 6 close, low scoring games.
Heat/Knicks
The Heat ended the season with inconsistent play but I believe they will be fine in the post season. The Knicks have been playing well since Mike Woodson took over but they are no match for the Miami Heat. Everyone seems to be intrigued by this match up but I think this series will be easy for the Heat. The Heat swept the Knicks during the season but I don't think the Knicks will get swept in this series. Heat in 5.
Pacers/Magic
The Pacers are probably the surprise team of the season. The Pacers have played at a high level all season gaining their highest seed in the playoffs since 2004. They are deep and talented lead by Danny Granger and Roy Hibbert. The Magic are an excellent three point shooting team, but Dwight Howard opened up a lot of the three point shooters. Dwight had season ending back surgery and will miss the playoffs. They will have no one to deal with 7'2 Roy Hibbert. The Magic may be able to steal one at home but I'm predicting a sweep. Pacers in 4.
Celtics/Hawks
Why does it seem like these two teams meet every year in the playoffs! Atlanta always get either the Celtics or the Magic every year! Anyway, the Hawks have quietly had a decent season without their All-Star center Al Horford. Joe Johnson and Josh Smith have had all-star worthy seasons. The Celtics on the other hand have been playing great despite multiple injuries. The play of Kevin Garnett at the center position has been key. The emergence of rookie, Avery Bradley has helped tremendously and Rondo is playing great continuing to be an amazing floor general. Even thought the Celtics are the 4th seed, the Hawks have home court because they have a better record. I expect this to be a good series but the Celtics are battle tested and have peaked at the right time. Celtics in 6.
Playoffs begin tomorrow at 1pm. Bulls vs 76ers on TNT

Dwight Wants Van Gundy Out
Reports surfaced that Dwight Howard went to management and requested that Stan Van Gundy be fired. Yesterday morning Van Gundy was asked if these reports were true. Van Gundy admitted that his bosses told him that Dwight wants him out. Dwight then interrupts the press conference and denies that he wants Van Gundy fired. Weird, right? Someone is obviously lying and my guess is Dwight.

LINJURED
Ok, I know that was a bad Lin pun but I couldn't resist. Jeremy Lin will miss the remainder of the season because of a left knee injury. Lin had surgery this week to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee. The loss of Lin comes at a bad time for the Knicks who are current trying to get out of the 8th and 7th spot to avoid playing the Bulls or Heat in the first round. The Knicks are also without Amare Stoudemire who has a bulging disk in his back. The starting point guard job will now go to Baron Davis, who was brought to the Knicks to be the starting point guard. I'm sure Baron Davis can handle the job, but I don't think he can play well enough to avoid the Bulls and Heat in the 1st round of the playoffs.

Final Four Picks
Who you got?! I have three of these teams in my final four. Unfortunately my champion is gone (I won't say who I picked. Y'all might laugh at me.) But I'm looking forward to the games on Saturday. Kentucky vs Louisville will be an excellent game. The in-state rivals going head to head for a spot in the national title. Even though this game will be close, Kentucky will win this one. Kentucky is just too talented. The other match-up is Ohio State and Kansas. I've seen a lot of OSU but i can't say the same for Kansas. I've heard a lot about their big man Thomas Robinson, so i'm looking forward to the Robinson/Sullinger match up. Also Kansas has Tyshawn Taylor who's no slouch either. So in the end, I think we'll see Kentucky vs Kansas for the national title.

Kevin Durant Proves My Point
Last night the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Miami Heat 103-87. This game featured two MVP candidates: LeBron James and Kevin Durant. For reasons I don't understand, LeBron James is the favorite to win MVP by far. James is an excellent player having an excellent season, but so is Durant. Last night, Durant won his match up against LeBron scoring 28 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, and dishing 8 assist. LeBron scored 17, grabbed 3 boards and also had 7 assist. The one knock on Durant was his lack of defense, but he played excellent defense on James yesterday. If Kevin Durant could play defense like that all year, I'm sure more people would agree me.

Tim Tebow Traded to The NY Jets
Tim Tebow has been traded to the NY Jets for two of the Jets draft picks. Tebow's departure from the Broncos was inevitable once the Broncos signed Peyton Manning for 5 years and $96 million. The Jets starting QB is Mark Sanchez so I'm sure Sanchez has to sweating bullets. Mark Sanchez had a sub-par season last year and knowing you are one bad play from being pulled and replaced by Tim Tebow can't help the young QB's psyche. But trading for Tebow could possibly have positive affects on and off the field for the Jets. On the field, there are a number of "Wildcat" plays that could be ran for Tebow. He could also be used in 2 point conversion situations. Also, Tebow can have a positive effect in the Jets' troubled locker room. I'm not sure how happy Tim Tebow is about being a Jet because he probably will not start. He will have to prove himself all over again.

Peyton Manning Chooses Broncos
Peyton Manning has chosen to join the Denver Broncos. First question that comes to mind is "Why?" The Broncos president, John Elway, is a hall of fame quarterback. I'm not sure what that has to do with the on field production of the Broncos, but apparently that played a part in his choice. Looking at the roster, the Broncos do have a few bright spots. They the best offensive line out of Peyton's final three teams, a decent defense, and the option of potentially signing some familiar pieces for Manning. Another reason is: No Drama. The Broncos do not have the Giants on their schedule next season (Giants' QB is Peyton's lil' brother Eli). Also left out the Broncos schedule is, Peyton's former team, the Indianapolis Colts. Now with Peyton Manning going to Denver, what will happen with Tim Tebow? It has been reported on ESPN that the Broncos will look to trade Tebow. Only time will tell what this means for Tebow's career. Congrats to the Broncos on landing the biggest free agent in NFL History. Too bad for Tim Tebow.

Peyton Will Make Decision Early Next Week
Peyton Manning told Denver Broncos, Tennessee Titans, and San Francisco 49ers, that he will chose a team by Monday or Tuesday. Surprisingly, the Cardinals are not one of Manning's final three teams. I believed that out of the teams looking for a QB, Arizona gave him the best chance to win another Super Bowl. Notice I said "out of the teams looking for a QB". I had no idea that the San Francisco 49ers were in the "Manning Sweepstakes". I thought they were perfectly happy with Alex Smith (Smith led 49ers to NFC title game). Now out of the three finalist, The 49ers give Peyton the best shot at another ring. Next on that list would be the Denver Broncos, but I have a hard time believing that Peyton would pull the plug on "Tebowmania". The Titans would be a sentimental choice for Manning because he went to school at Tennessee, but besides that, I don't think they have much to offer. I believe Manning needs one more ring to solidify his legacy, so his best option is the 49ers.
Lehigh Defeats Duke
Lehigh beat #2 Duke. I really don't have much else to say. R.I.P. to all of our brackets. I'm just going to pretend I never filled out a bracket. With Duke, Mizzou, and Michigan losing, I have lost three of my Elite Eight. Now I know Michigan was a stretch but I thought they could surprise a couple teams. Well congrats to Lehigh. Good for underdogs. Bad for brackets.

Norfolk State Defeats Mizzou
The first major upset of the tournament has happened. #15 Norfolk State beats #2 Missouri 86-84. Many people had Mizzou going to the Final Four, including President Obama. Norfolk State was led by Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of The Year, Kyle O'Quinn who had 26 points and 14 rebounds. I'm sure everyone's bracket is now ruined. If you had Norfolk State beating Mizzou; congratulations! I had Mizzou going to the Elite Eight so at least my Final Four is still intact. But this is what the tournament is all about: Upsets and Cinderella stories. Last year it was VCU. A few years ago it was George Mason. Maybe this year the "Cinderella" team will be Norfolk State.

Mike D'Antoni Resigns as Head Coach of The Knicks
Mike D'Antoni resigned as head coach of the New York Knicks today. Rumors have been swirling around the coach's job security since the beginning of the season. D'Antoni was seeking a contract extension at the beginning of the year and was denied, so D'Antoni entered the season on the hot seat. The Knicks have fallen out of the playoff race losing 6 straight games. There was hope for D'Antoni when "Linsanity" was taking over the league, but since Carmelo's return the Knicks have won only two games. Rumors spread last week that Carmelo was not happy with the lack of touches he was getting in the 4th quarter. Melo denies the rumor but I'm pretty sure its true. D'Antoni was hired in 2008 and has only had one playoff appearance (last year). He was 121-167 as coach of the Knicks. Assistant coach, Mike Woodson will take over as interim head coach.
Megatron Gets Mega Contract
Calvin Johnson signed the biggest contract in NFL history today. Johnson signed a deal that will keep him in Detroit for 7 years. His contract is worth $132 million with $60 million guaranteed. This is more than any other player in the NFL and Calvin Johnson is worth every penny. Johnson had a career season last year with 1,681 yards, 96 receptions, and 16 touchdowns. This was a no brainer for the Lions. Congrats Calvin, you're the richest man in the NFL.

Ricky Rubio Out For The Season
Ricky Rubio tore a ligament in his right knee in Friday night's game against the Lakers. Rubio, who was having a sensational rookie season, will miss the remainder of the season. Obviously, this is a huge loss for the Minnesota Timberwolves, who were poised to make a playoff push currently in the 9th spot in the Western Conference. Rubio was also recieving consideration for Rookie Of The Year, challenging Kyrie Irving for the award. Rubio averaged 10.6 points and 8.2 assist in 41 games for the Timberwolves.

Players Receiving Money For Injuring Opposing Players
Defensive Coordinator, Gregg Williams has admitted to overseeing a "Bounty System" that rewarded players for injuries inflicted on opposing players while he was the defensive coordinator for the Saints. This is against NFL rules but many players and former players are saying that this goes on every team and has been going on for years. Gregg Williams rewarded players for "knock outs" and "cart-offs" which in my opinion is the ugliest part of the game. There is nothing worse than seeing a player laying on the field motionless after a big hit. It is disgusting to me that players are getting $1,500 rewards for that. Many former players and current players have taken to twitter and ESPN to voice their opinions. The sad thing to me is that a lot of them are defending this. Maybe they have taken too many shots to the head, but I can't see how anyone can defend receiving money for possibly ending another player's career. Gregg Williams is meeting with league officials today. I'm sure major penalties will be handed out by Commissioner Goodell.

Josh Smith Puts "IBlocka" on a Poster
Why Won't He Take The Last Shot?!
Its the same old story. Last seconds of the game. Lebron has the ball. 3...2...1...pass? Why won't LeBron shoot the last shot? For the second time in a week, Lebron tries to make a play instead of taking the last shot to win the game. The Miami Heat lost 99-98 to the Utah Jazz on Friday. LeBron James was hot! Burring a number of difficult shots. It looked like LeBron was going to close the game, but in the last seconds of the game, he passes the ball to Udonis Haslem on a pick-n-roll? Haslem takes the last shot and of course he missed. James did the same thing in the All-Star game. He brought the East all the way back just to turn the ball over in the last seconds of the game. Unlike other times he's passed instead of shooting, James actually showed some frustration over his choice through twitter. LeBron tweeted "Man I have a really sick feeling in my stomach right now! Really wanted tonight's game. I just had to make one more dang play out there" (Yea he really said dang lol) But, maybe LeBron has finally learned his lesson. Unless Wade or Bosh is wide open, just shoot LeBron. The shot never taken is always a miss.

All-Star Weekend Recap
The 2012 All-Star Weekend is now over. Here are some of the highs and lows:
Celebrity All-Star Game
The Celebrity Game was a huge hit having some of the most relevant celebrities participate. None bigger than Kevin Hart, who stole the show; winning the game MVP while being freaking hilarious!
BBVA Rising Star Challenge
This is a better take on the Rookie-Sophomore game mixing teams with the best rookie and sophomore players. Rookie of The Year leader, Kyrie Irving won MVP scoring 34 points and shooting 8-8 from three. John Wall later turned the game into a dunk contest (more on the actual dunk contest later...smh) taking advantage of the lack of defense.
Footlocker Shooting Stars Challenge (3pt contest)
This year's three point contest was entertaining with big name stars Kevin Durant and Kevin Love dueling in the final round. Kevin Love wins the challenge though many expected the NBA's 2nd leading scorer (Durant) to beat Love.
Sprite Slam Dunk Contest
Where do I begin?! This years slam dunk contest was awful!!! There were four no-name players participating, way too many props and gimmicks were used and lastly the dunks weren't exciting! The NBA made a HUGE mistake by allowing fans to vote for the winner via twitter by using the hashtag #spriteslamdunk and the player of your choice's last name. Instead of voting, many people used this as an opportunity to express their disappointment with the contest. Such tweets as "#Spriteslamdunk Eatadick" and "#SpriteSlamdunk Yabitch" were tweeted instead of votes. The "#Spriteslamdunk Yabitch" tweet was hilarious though lol. Something has to be done to get the players that the fans want to see to participate so this doesn't happen again! I would love to see Blake Griffin vs LeBron James or Russell Westbrook, Derrick Rose and John Wall battle each other. But I highly doubt either of those will ever happen. Oh yea...Jeremy Evans won the dunk contest...WTF is a Jeremy Evans????
NBA All-Star Game
The All-Star game was very entertaining! The best players shinned and gave fans something to cheer about having 40 dunks in the game. One thing I love about the all-star game is no matter how much of a blow out it is in the beginning of the game, in the last three minutes it is always close and exciting. The weekend overall was a success in my opinion.

J-Rich!!!!
LeBron for MVP?....NO!
It is the mid way point of the NBA season. Who's your pick for MVP? Most people seem to be picking LeBron James. James is having yet another amazing season averaging 27.4 ppg, 8.1 rebs and 6.8 ast. Also, the Heat are tied with the Thunder for the best record in the league (27-7). These are definitely MVP numbers but I refuse to celebrate another great, but pointless season from LeBron James! Nothing this man does in the regular season excites me. I really don't care. The only thing that matters is what he does in the post season. Period. If the NBA rewards this man with another MVP, they give him more reason to be satisfied with himself. If he DOESN'T win MVP I am willing to guarantee that the Miami Heat will win the NBA Championship. "So if LeBron doesn't win, who will?!" I'm glad you asked! Kevin Durant should be the MVP! He is having an excellent season averaging 27.9 ppg and a career high 8.1 rebs. I believe it is Durant's time. This is his 5th year in the league and every year since his arrival in the NBA he has improved his play and his team. Also, he is the MOST valuable player on his team. Unlike LeBron who plays with two elite players, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh. Unless Kevin Durant has an awful second half of the NBA season, he should win MVP. But I doubt the NBA feels the same way.
With The First Pick In The Draft....
NFL Draft is next month and the Colts have the 1st in the draft. Who do you think they should pick? Andrew Luck (left) is considered a "once in a lifetime" talent, but Robert Griffin III is a more exciting and charismatic player. I think the Colts will go with the "Peyton Manning clone" in Andrew Luck but will it prove to be the right decision?

Sheed To The Lakers?!
I hope this is true! If it is, then you'll have Metta World Peace and Rahseed Wallace in the same locker room....whoa! Plus you get awesome stuff like this ^^^^^
All-Star Weekend!!!!!!
Today is the opening day of All-Star Weekend in Orlando. I am excited about it as I am every year. One thing I'm not excited about is this year's dunk contest featuring a less than stellar line up of Jeremy Evans, Paul George, Derrick Williams, and Chase Budinger. I hope its more exciting then this line up suggest, but I don't count on it.
Best National Anthem Ever!!!
